Rockmaster RM100
Rockmaster RM100 is a diesel powered self-propelled crawler mounted stand-alone blasthole drill designed to drill blast holes into benches in quarries and opencast mines.
Rockmaster RM100 is primarily intended for drilling with DTH hammer, which makes it lighter and more mobile than for example such heavy and expensive rotary drills as D45KS and DM45 often applied in open pits.
Rockmaster RM100 can easily move on cross-country terrain and does not require any grader leveling of the work area. The chassis of Rockmaster RM100 is equipped with a hydraulic caterpillar oscillation system with ± 10° oscillation angle, which considerably facilitates the positioning of the unit on raised plots of the work area. The unique pivoting drilling mast of Rockmaster RM100 is positioned regardless of the position of its caterpillars on the ground, the positioning being assisted by means of hydraulic cylinders.
The mast, for easy positioning along bench walls in open-pit mine applications, can move in the following directions: rising/lowering, tilting forward/back, turning left/right, tilting left/right. The horizontal holes are drilled both in forward and lateral directions.
The drilling mast of Rockmaster RM100 is equipped with a carousel including an automatic system for making-up and disassembling the drill column containing 6 six-meter 3 to 5” OD pipes, with a starter drill rod on a feeder that ensures continuous drilling down to 39 meters. In need of making deeper holes, the drill string can be subsequently built-up to 70 meters by complementary pipes. Rotary drilling with application of cone rock bits can be done depending on the physical and mechanical properties of the drilled rock.
The spacious ergonomic cabin of Rockmaster RM100 offers comfortable conditions to the operator enhancing performance of the operation.
The cabin is certified as a R.O.P.S. design (ISO-3471 ‘Roll-over protective structures) and F.O.P.S. (ISO-3449 ‘Falling-object protective structures’). The noise level in the cabin is below 80 dB (A). Electrical harness: the current-carrying conductor is certified for curls in cold condition at temperatures down to -55°C; the fire-resistant braid «Arctic Neoprene» is made of synthetic rubber and is capable of operating in the temperature range from -55°C to +125°C.
The hydraulic hoses are high-pressure, special-purpose, cold resistant, arctic service; they have an expanded temperature range and are capable of operating at down to -55°C.
The power plant of Rockmaster RM100 includes the Cummins diesel motor engine and the input power distribution gearbox / pumps drive, provides direct coupled thru-drive to power rig hydraulics and air compressor. Easier access to service points is provided by the opened out service doors and demountable panels.
The power plant and the compressor are located on the rear side of the superstructure across its axis, also performing the counterweight function.
